Ed_S 02-21-2000, 03:51 PM Would need more info, like the mainboard brand & model, same for the HD. Not really sure it's anything to worry about, really. Tech Encyclopedia definition: S.M.A.R.T. (Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) A drive technology that reports its own degradation enabling the operating system to warn the user of potential failure. It was included in EIDE drives with the ATA-3 specification. Now, if it reported a failure rather than "disabled", THAT would be a real cause for concern! That's where it was on my mainboard. ck42866 02-22-2000, 06:22 PM I think that programs like Sandra are able to identify stuff like that. Hope it works. Susan 02-22-2000, 07:07 PM You can download the program Sandra here: www.sisoftware.co.uk/sandra (http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/sandra) Great little program that tells you lots about your system http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Seamus 02-23-2000, 12:57 AM thanx where in bios no mention of smart in mine also how would i find out what hd and mainboard i have do i have to open case and look SysOpt.com
