I have been trying to record unreal tournament for my own back up purposes. I have already tried to record quake 3 without success as well. I am thinking that they are protected but have heard others with success stories. I can copy them only using direct cd and then it states I neeed the cd to start program. It also show a difference in cd size when compared to the original rendering them useless to me. When I try to use the adaptec software for cd to cd, it gives me errors stating that the source cd cannot be read then loads the TOC making CD unwritable. I am going crazy. And yes, I have tried loading the same exact image as well. Does anyone know what I am up against and is there any third party solutions in the form of software add ons capable of making this work? I am using an iomega 4x4x24 with all the standard CD burning software. Any help would be, as always, deeply appreciated. Thanks

Try a quick search for a software package called "Nero". You can download a trial copy of the same to try. It has been known to conflict with your current software so you may face a program unload before you get anywhere. There are also loads of forums with answers to your dilemma. Yes - by the way- a very common form of copy protection is tricking your software into thinking the file to be copied is larger thatn the 650 mb size of your cdr- disk. There are also cd-r media larger than 650 mb you can buy but your drive may not be able to handle the increased demand on its ability to write. Buy a few & try!

One of the biggest problems is Adaptec Easy CD Creator itself! I have Easy CD Creator 4 Delux.(wasted 100-delux bucks onit) I could not copy any PSX games. Got the same error. Found out Adaptec monopolizes your system & will not allow it to work with other CDR programs as well.

Renaming the Scsilhlp.vxd file in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS map to Scsilhlp.old PRIOR to installing any other CDR software. Even if you uninstall it, especially Direct CD, you will still have to edit the vxd file. (I nuked my drive to get rid of it completly) I downloaded CDR-Win 3.7f from goldenhawk.com which works wonderful. I have unlock codes if you like? www.carter.cc (http://www.carter.cc) has good info also. www.megagames.com (http://www.megagames.com) has good forums for copy info.

Good luck with EZ-CD (if yer gonna keep it)
