I have found out that most of the time i have speedier internet when using portable wireless usb-adapter connected to pc than using cable. Wireless router is called huawei E960.

1. A security-advice is telling me that i should disable WLAN, which i did. It must be the Wireless USB-adapter/stick.
Does this mean-if i want more speed-using this stick- i would give up securit?

I already changed the PW of the router.

2. on one of my drives i see REALTEK RTL8187 Wirelss Lan Utility in the autostart-folder. Should i leave it there? Its the network driver/software coming with my Gigabyte-MB. Thanks

Just disable it in device manager is a option, on my laptop I turn of the onboard wireless when using USB adapter.

I disabled wlan in the router-software-menue.

That should kill the internet access for wireless.

I see two "network-adapters": translation from german

Realtek 8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC
TAP-Win32 Adapter V9
Could it be that the latter is the one related to WLAN-usb-stick?
must be since in network-connections it is disabled.
but in non-admin-mode it is greyed out.
will now check it as admin.

In taskbar i see:
No RTL8187

A lot of questions left...

Realtek 8169/8110 that is the one you plug the cat 5 into.

TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 is virtual network connection for Open VPN.
You only get it if you install trustconnect.

Found this:
Turns out both TrustConnect and livePCsupport are payware. Plus more
