When I am instaling internal modem do I have to disable com 2 port in BIOS ?

No. Just pop it in. Turn on PC and see if windows detects it. If no, go into control panel->modems and Add modem.

What brand modem are you trying to install is it a hardware modem or a software modem? Some modems you can preset the com port and the interupt before you install them. Other modems like the Zoom PCI modem want you to install the software before you install the modem it's self. What ever modem you have it's always a good idea to read the instructions before you install it in the system. good Luck

I got this old 33 600 modem with sound card on it. Got 3 diskettes but no manual.

There are no jumpers on this big board. When I install software everything in device manager is OK (no conflict), but can't get it to work. Something is strange to me. Sometime is on com1, than com3, than com5 ...
when I change some bios settings (auto detection of com ports/ default values).
