Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the question of how much ram has been slapped around like a punk in a Steven Segall flick but I just gotta post it and hear from some folks who aren't trying to sell me some! Seriously, for those of you that have more than 64Mb, how much of a difference did you noticed when you made the change above 64? I can remember upping from 16 to 32 with Win3.11 and going, "wow, I like it!!" But since I've been using Win9x I've always had 64.

Depends on the X.
I saw a big improvement in Win-98 going from 64 to 128meg. In Win 95, 64meg was fine.

stuff is DIRT cheap now
its less than 30 bucks for a 64MB upgrade
Shipping for the places that offer it that cheap is another story....

I would HIGHLY recommend 128MB RAM for any system that touches any kind of game at all.
Also, anyone who ever works with any kind of picture editing should have 128MB
Also, if you find yourself with over 7 or so things on the taskbar, also get it.
The prices they are now, theres not an instance where I would not recommend it

For the price, its the best upgrade you can get in My opnion right now.

When RAM prices were around $100 for every 64MB, i still stuffed 128MB into every system I made.

If you can afford it I would go to 128 meg minimum.

I just bought another 64 meg stick because it was so cheap to bring my system up to 192 meg. The increase in ram only made a slight improvement in speed for most of the applications, but I don't do much gaming. If you do serious gaming then I would go to 192 or up it to 256 if you have the funds.
