Cannot install IE6 for win2k

On an older hp pavilion laptop zv5200 512mb/40gb i have updated bios from f30 to f35. there f45 as latest. maybe i should update to solve this problem.
despite all patches, rollup1 version 2 were made-i ran them from multiple cds- ie6-installer cannot find data of internet explorer 6.
I will upgrade-replace the only external chip 256mb by one 1 gb and exchange Hdd a bit later.
Should i remove all the patches and do the only update-rollup1 version 2?


kerio firewall used , which one is the latest? i once read about it.

which antivirus? avg is not working with win2k.
I have a router-huawei e960.

BTW: i like this tiny device as internet-backup. Is not lightweight, expensive battery is broke anyway.

yes, i was on that site but i couldnt change the language. only english, i need german. maybe a browser-problem. i will try. thanks i wonder if opera is working quicker. That was my feeling lately on my main not very quick desktop and not very quick internet. 4000dsl

As for the service pack, just change the change language to german.

YEEES these links really helped me.
microsoft seems to have their older links badly organized.
or i had an upload-problem. very slow.
I am happy i could install all updates. laptop running good. it is simply use as an emergency internet-access.
