Will a radeon 6950 bottleneck on a Q6600 @2.4ghz?

Im trying to hold back on a big upgrade till diablo 3 comes out, but my 5850 isnt doing so well with current games like witcher 2 etc running at 1920 x 1200.

I have a gigabyte p35-dq6 motherboard which apparently runs a crossfire lowering the bus speed of the 2nd card to 4x. I read that the decrease in performance of the 2nd card will be dependent on the size of the texture/polygons on the game? so crossfire wouldnt be worth it?

would upgrading to a 6950 be worth it?

interesting... but would 6xxx series have new architecture that could perform better in new games?

Best bet is to research s they sometime use old GPUs in newer cards and they re slower.
