I'm having some strange stuttering effects when using my PC. Here's the system:

Celeron 400
BH6
128Mb
ATI Rage Fury Pro
Monster 2 3D
SB Live
8.4Gb Quantum
3.2Gb Quantum
40x Pioneer CDRom
Mitsumi T2600 CD Writer

Mine is the only machine Ive seen that the mouse will stutter when I'm loading an app (say Netscape).

Also, when playing Unreal Tournament demo, it stutters very badly, and sometimes I'll get a momentary freeze, I think when the sound card and disk access freeze.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Is it a serial or PS/2 mouse? Is it sharring an IRQ with any other devices? How many app's do you have running in the background?

On the software renderer in UT, mouse stutering is common and no cause for concern.

Its a PS/2 mouse, and I can't see a clash.

Im using the Glide renderer in UT.

Is there any good software for diagnosing Motherboards?

Thanks again

You won't see a clash as such, the PS2 and modem just conflict in operation while Windows dosn't detect anything. The PS2 is usually IRQ12, check your mainboard manual and when you know which IRQ it uses, take the other piece of hardware sharing the IRQ off it.
