I have been attempting to use Voice Commands and Voice response with ETAK SKYMAP GPS system on IBM Thinkpad Model 600.
The GPS system works great, it recognizes the commands, and responds well. However, the volume is insufficient to use in a car, (especially a loud one)

I am using a Andrea Electronics headphone/microphone combo with their MC100 auxiliary amplifier control. The MC100 makes very little difference and the audio coming to the headphone is inadequate.

Does anyone know of a small amplifier that could be used in a mobile environment?

or any other potential solution to this problem??

This is such a neat technology, (it is better for a man to get his navigation directions from a computer, rather than from a female sitting in the passenger seat)
and I am afraid that I won't be able to use it fully if I cannot solve this tech problem.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.
