My computer is constantly seeking A-drive when loading a program and when shuting down. Is there any type of fix for this problem? I am running win98.

I bet you have some Anti-virus software on your system http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Go into the configuration for the AV software and turn off the Floppy disk check

if you have any shortcuts (desktop, start menu) that point to a file on a floppy it might do that.

also, if you have apps that recently used a file on a floppy they might do that when you startup the app.

Mntsnow gets the thumbs up, looks like it was in the Anti-virus. Dave_H great URL it will come in handy. Thanks everyone for the prompt replies and the assistance. I hope I can do the same for you. Just proves a point, I have worked with computers since 1984 and still not even close to knowing it all.
