I need to share a computer(xp) with another computer(win7) to a printer. Each computer will use USB A-to-B. the computers are about 10' apart with printer in between. I really don't want to go wireless because of the cost.
What hardware can I use that will allow me to use the device cables I have (hub?, switch?.
thanks

Print shareing would be the easiest and cheapest.

Thanks Ol’tunzafun, train, I went to the web site Train provided and ordered the switch along with USB 2.0 A to B device cable.
That will give me 3 cables of the same type. Will this work ok? Or do I need a different type(crossover or data transfer cable) to connect to the printer?
Thanks

Your printer should have its own cable...(usb)

Steve, I bought the printer from dell. It was delivered without a cable. Contacvted Dell and was told cables are not included. I don't know if this apllies to all the printers they sell.

That applies to every printer I have seen so far. Yep you have to buy the USB cable seperate.
