 I can not send email, open my address book or create a new message. I also can't reply or fprward an email. I can receive emails fine. How do I uninstall and reinstall Outlook Express? I can't send email from any of my email programs (Windows Live Mail, Microsoft Outlook)
My system is as follows:
Gateway 7310 with 2gigs RAM, 2.8 gig CPU OS Windows XP Home, Norton 2010 antivirus.
Please help.

It could be Norton, try disabling it temporarily. If that doesn't work try emailing in Safe Mode with Networking. Run Malwarebytes also to be sure Norton hasn't missed something.

I download Malwarebytes and ran it. I also tried to send email with Norton disabled. At one point, I couldn't bring up a message box, view my address book or send email. I did a reinstall of Microsoft offie because I was having the same issues with outlook. Now I can do everything except send email. Does anyone know which windows files are responsible for sending email? I tought if I got those files off of a computer that was working and put them in the proper windows folder, it might work. I Malwarebytes did find some adware but no viruses. Thanks for your help.

What happens/doesn't happen when you try to send?

This is what I get.
http://www.goodtimeshelties.com/desi/errorrmessage2.jpg It doesn't give me any details. This says Windows Live Mail on it but it is exactly the same as what I get with Outlook Express.

Sounds like Norton to me too.
Do you have all the WinXP updates?

Thanks everyone for your help. I found the problem. My sent folder was over 2 gigs. That is what made it quite working. The answer was to copy my sent folder and save it to a different folder. Then I deleted it out of the OE storage folder. When I opened Outlook Express back up it had created a new sent folder that was empty. Now I can send without errors. I can rename the old sent folder and import it back into the storage folder and won't have lost anything.
