Modem question?

I was wondering if there is a way to make your modem refuse a slow connection(31200bps)? The best connections I get are like 49333, 48000, 46667. I am using a Viking v.90 external pnp.

In DUN where you set max speed, you can check the box that says "only connect at this speed". However, this significantly reduces your chance for success I would think, as both modems have to fight through 100 diff. variables to arrive at only one available speed.
