Weird Modem Problem

When I reboot (off/on) computer the modem works fine
if I just restart the comp, the modem doesn't work.
WHY!!!!!!!????????????
I kind of think because it is not getting d drivers, so what is it that windows doesn't run when it reboots? autoexec.bat?????

check the modem manufacturers website to see if there are newer drivers for it. what kind of modem is it?

This modem is a CHEAP-O matic (newcome)
they don't have any support on the web, they
don't even have their drivers on the Dam webpage!
It is bad!

it sounds like bad drivers to me...had a similar problem with a lucent winmodem...but if they don't have newer drivers...don't know what to suggest...
