I'm looking at purchasing a Motorola SURFboard SBG900 Cable Modem but the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) is Euro-DOCSIS and was wondering will this work here in the US? I'm getting a good deal on the price that's why I'm considering buying it.

Aside from the obvious voltage and frequency differences on the line side of the appliance, cable modems use existing TV channels which are wider in Europe due to the differences between the NTSC and PAL television standards. Europe uses a bandwidth of 8MHz and North America uses 6 MHz. In short, the chances of it working would be about the same as that of a European TV working in a North American living room.

No wonder it's such a deal! :x
