I had an extra video card I purchased some time after I bought the Nvidia 9400 GT card. Both are PCIe. I decided to take out the Nvidia card and put in the ATI 2600 card. For some reason the ati card didnt seem to work, meaning that when I plugged in the lcd monitor, there was no picture (power button stayed amber). I even pressed the reset button on the monitor to toggle between the analog and digital signals and still no picture. I tried both DVI connectors on the card but still no picture. I'm sure the card works; the fan works and all it did was sit inside its little protective bag in my file cabinet for several months. It's actually newer than the Nvidia card. But I cant seem to figure out what could be the problem....

I kind of want to use the card. Did I need to do anything else?

Vista Ultimate
ECS motherboard

Did you uninstall the Nvidia drivers before shutting down and Installing the ATI card?

Even though that is new card, it is possible it is bad.
