MS released another .NET extension into Firefox. Mozilla is fighting back and disabling the extension.

Your Firefox may have blocked it already, but here's how to remove it.
* Make sure Firefox is closed
* Del "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Windows Presentation Foundation\DotNetAssistantExtension\*"
* Run regedit and go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins"
* Delete the microsoft.com/WPF,version=3.5 folder

What do you think about Microsofts patch to fix the stability problems?

My Firefox asked to block it as well. I allowed it to block on one computer, but not on my laptop. Question now, is should it be ? ? ? What do we need that app for ?? Will it be renabled by a later fix either from MS or Firefox ? ? ?

I'm not sure what you are talking about cdroman. How does that relate to WPF?
@Bruceb. WPF basically acts like ActiveX for Firefox. That is one of the biggest security concerns for IE. FF doesn't want to be responsible for that vulnerability.
because of a security vulnerability, or to be precise a remote code execution vulnerability.
I can't see a need for that. I don't run .NET at all on my "clean" system and it runs just fine.

The fix that I ran this morning from MS was specifically for the .net extension for FF. It has not reinstalled it into FF as of yet though. :t

It's a moot point because Mozilla is blocking it anyway. It doesn't matter if the new patch helps compatibility/stability if it creates a security hole.

I know; I just find this type of thing interesting. I can't help but feel that a "if you can't beat them, buy them" is imminent in the future. :t
