com ports gone

I was having printer problems out of win 98 and decided to trash my com and printer ports out of device manager. Now they are gone.

I thought win 98 would bring them back automatically. What do I do now?

You can add your ports by going into Add New Hardware. You can either have the OS search for new hardware or you can specify new hardware. If you specify new hardware you will be given a list. The ports a located new the bottom of the list. Start adding them back. Note, that when you add 1 you wil then have to reboot and then add the next one and so on.
