I'm running a Pentium 233 with 64mb of DRAM. I recently switched from 2-FTP/2-EDO mixed SIMM sets to 2-SDRAM DIMM sets. I thought this would improve speed, but my pc is actually loading slower than my old FTP/EDO DRAM. Does anyone know why? Yes, they're 66mhz.

I'm shooting in the dark here, but, did you disable "parity check" in BIOS. Even thought you have identical sticks, they may have been mfg a little differently.. A IT tech once told me that EDO ram works somewhat better than sdram(HUH?) He went on to elaborate that the edo would "release" the ram faster that sdram making it seem as more was available.. I dunno,, just reapeating,, btw, this guy has been correct on everyting , so far.. alien

Can't seem to find a parity enable/disable function in BIOS. I am running non-parity SDRAM. Interesting comments from your tech friend about Sync vs. EDO. Unless I can find a way to speed up these DIMMS, I'm switching back to EDO SIMMS. Anybody else got any ideas?
