hmmm grrr
my comp wont load win98
all that i can see on the screen is the c:\
prompt
when i type in win
it starts to load the O/S but then the text turns yellow and then everything freezes

im thinking that the vid-card could be dead
because as some of u know
this comp is a 700E cumine @1064mhz
it uses the 152mhz bus
maybe this killed it
i dont know

Well let's see - the obvious points - if you told people what system u had, we might have a chance of helping you.

Why the hell didn't you try it at stock speed? Of course, no, you didn't think that if you gave it the proper AGP speed it might work? If you have a BX board, why even bother with the 152mhz FSB, = 100mhz AGP!!!

Try the normal speed!!

Sorry if I sounded rude, but some of this isn't just knoledge - it's common sense!!

Sorry I cant be of much help but I am curious how much did that Cumine 700e cost you and where did you get it. Thanks

All I can add is that you bring that system down some to a more reasonable speed and see how things go. Then, if still having problems, post back.

the cumine 700E was NOT cheap
my god when i think of it i paid 900$ for it
and im a reseller
so the end price would be 20% or so higher

the same thing happens at lower speeds
maybe i damaged the motherboard or something
because the CPU and RAM works perfectly on another mobo

Thanks for the info. Thats a hefty price tag.

Possible video memory shot? I'd say so with the yellow color and then nothing.

Next best bet would be to change out the video - even if it's some old 4M SIS card, just try it. Of course, do it at normal speed.

you might try replacing the vid cable and see if that does anything....
