Try this site out, I had one of those davicom 33.6 models before (V1433VQH-U)...
this page adds a CM to the front of the model but I'm not sure why LOL..I'm guessing that yours would most likely be the first model listed ( (CM)V33.6DAVICOM) with the Davicom chipset since you didnt specify the model #...
Phoebemicro (http://www.phoebemicro.com/Support/Download/download.html#33.6KModemDrivers)
By the way Davicom is the name of the chipset used on the modem...This where I found more info on the model I had and was looking for updated drivers if there were any....
Hope this helps... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

can I now dump the stuff in the temp file or will I lose this driver, in case I need it again

No problem, Glad to help when I can. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
If you check out Modem/Lan Tweak Guide (http://www.tweak3d.net/tweak/modem/) You might find some helpful info and maybe a few different init strings that might speed up the modem a bit too...
About the removing the modem install temp files..You can always copy and paste the files that were extacted into an folder named "modem install" or something like that and if you ever need them just direct windows to that file...
