Recently, say in the last month, there has been 3 or 4 times that my computer wants to run scan disk when I start it up. This normally happens when you don't shut down properly, but this isn't the case. I let it run and do a surface scan and everything is fine. If I interrrupt scan disk, then the next time I restart it wants to run it again. What could cause windows to think it wasn't shut down properly, or what else could cause this to happen? My system is:

Win98 SE
Celeron 400
128mb
4.3g Maxtor C:
6.4g WD D:
MX300 sound
Voodoo3 2000 video
Diamond SupraMax 56k

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just a quick question.... how full is your C: drive (ie: how much free space is left)?

Cheers.

How many files do you have in the root directory?
