Are you the same person? You're not going to get a different answer. You shouldn't flash a bios from a different manufacturer onto an emachines board in the first place.

Not looking for a different answer just looking for answers, Emachine techs would not supply me with any info trying to resolve this mess.been at this all day. if I can't find which bios to use then
I just killed my board.

The only safe place to get an EMachines BIOS update is at the EMachines site. If you get it anyplace else, you can kill the board.

My experience has shown EMachines to be darned poor at supplying updates. If it ain't there, give it up.

If there is any BIOS at all on the Emachines site for your model, you can download it, take it to a local shop and they can force-flash it for about $25. It may save the board.

Thanks BipolarBill
This has been a journey. and the people at Emachines are not very helpful I peeled the sticker
off the chip to reveal some numbers now if I can get someone to interrupt them.
I'll just put them here if someone reads this maybe there'll know

You really cannot go by those numbers. That chip can be flashed with any BIOS. You must download the proper BIOS from the eMachines site.

Which model is this?

Here is a good page to learn about BIOS flashing with lots of research material.

You can do a google search for "Dr. BIOS" or similar places that sell pre flashed BIOS chips.

Your cheapest solution may be to simply buy a new mobo and upgade from the eMachine one.

There is no BIOS update available for that motherboard. You need to get it from EMachines.

Understand that all motherboards with the same numbers are NOT the same. Many are custom-altered by a manufacturer (PCChips in this case) from existing models. One BIOS does *not* fit all.

thanks to all the people that have taken the time to reply and research this issue, because emachines want the $$$$$ to give direction and no matter how much info I supply it's the same questions. I have created another brick in the wall.

Thanks again

And yet, you still have not answered whether you checked Emachines for a bios update.

Emachines - http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T2200

Besides, that is a ESC motherboard.

And with that thought in mind:

Whatever you do and wherever you buy - avoid:
Jetway
PC Chips
ECS
These aren't the bottom of the barrel; they'd have to improve greatly to achieve that status. Their failure rates are obscene.
