Hello all!
I've just bought a Dell Mini 10. All in all, I'm very impressed with this little machine, especially as it fits snugly in the accessories compartment of my camera bag. This and it's large hard drive seem to make it a perfect field photography companion for me :)
HOWEVER......I'm having a problem with the graphics. Windows XP runs fine and everyhting looks pretty as it should. The problem is with some darker shaded photographs and especially with movie playback. It looks like the card is only running 256 colours or so, and there is no anti-aliasing going on at all, no digital smoothing. I suppose it's comparable to commodore 128 doing FMV if ever there was such a thing.
Oh, by the way, it runs streaming and you tube, full screen without any problems whatsoever (apart from the jagged pixelation issues) I'm using MPlayer and VLC for playback of the compressed films.
I know there have been driver grumbles about this card and XP, but come on? If this thing is brand new, and can use up to 256MB of shared memory, surely it should be able to play DivX and XviD movies without any trouble??
Any help greatly appreciated.....
Fred.
