I have a game on CD that works on other computers but gives me the "blue screen of death" on my computer. All of my other CD's work. The file system being used by the CD is CDFS. Any ideas? Thank you.

The operating system that it does work on is windows 95 and 98 at work. It is not working on a Dell Dimension XPS T450. The brand of computers it does work on are Compacs, and Gateways. The disk is actually an interactive cd titled "The Art of Fly Tying". I have the latest DIRECTX available. Whether or not it auto installs or not the same thing happens. I have performed a virus check and also I have defragged. I am running the monitor on 1024x768 High Color (16 bit). I'm not up on the swap file thing since I am recently new to computers! Axel 02-08-2000, 12:28 AM We'll need a LOT more details - What OS does the non-functional system use? a working system?? What brand of computer DOES the CD work on - what doesn't it work on? What game is it? Have you tried upgrading the DIRECTX on the offending system? - If you have a really old version and your CD requires a new version it doesn't auto-install - that may be the issue. How much available swap file space is on the c: drive?? Defraged ye ole hard drive lately?? virus-scanned lately?? What resolution is the monitor set for on the offending system? are you running 16 colors or 256 colors?? That's all that comes to mind right off without knowing the color of the CPU - ;P jstst23 02-08-2000, 05:52 PM The changing to 640 X 480 did not help. The error on the blue screen states 'A fatal exception OE has occured at 0177:BFF90BA7. The current application will be terminated. Any help? tkray 02-10-2000, 12:24 AM Update video display drivers, and then your cd rom drivers. sounds like a corrupt vid driver to me. SysOpt.com
