What you can try doing is deleting the Hard Disk Controllers that are in Control panel/System and rebooting. WIN should redetect and reinstall some kind of new drivers for them and hopefully they are workable to support a CD Drive.
From experience I've found that sometimes there is only one chance to upgrade the MB drivers from your CD ROM that came with the MB before rebooting and if that chance is missed, one ends up at a point that you are at now.
Once the system has booted into WIN in normal mode, check and see that you are now able to use the CD Drive. The first thing you'll want to do is install the MB drivers.
