scanner to lpt2 port

Using Windows 98, and the Epson Twain driver, my Epson GT8500 scanner will stop scanning halfway through the pre-scan. No message, just hangs. Scanner is connected to parallel card on LPT2. Would appreciate any help that can be offered. Many thanks

Try to reduce the density of the scan by changing from colour to black & white. This will reduce the amount of data that is being sent from the scanner to your pc. You might be running out of available memory. Check the amount of swap disk space that you have available. You might need a driver update... check with Epson.
