Windows Media 11 Slow Down On XP

I would like to know why is my music dragging or slowing down when using Media Player 11 for XP Professional?

For the same reason that other things do - viruses, spyware or another program gone amok.

Open Task Manager and see which processes are running and which are using the most CPU and memory.

You are also free to use other music players like VLC and iTunes.

Refer to the AV/Antispy sticky. Start with Malwarebytes.

I use VLC for just about everything, since it plays just about everything I throw at it.

In addition to Task Manager, you may want to try Process Explorer or Security Task manager. Links are in AV/Antispy.
