Alright heres the situation, I just finnished building my new PC and I put a Linksys 10/100 BaseT NIC in for my cable modem. Installation went smooth as silk and then once the cable modem was hooked up every time I restart Windows I get an error message that my NIC is not functioning properly??????????? There is no conflict in the device manager and all of the drivers are properly installed, I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the network property box.
Look where it says "primary network logon"
If it says "client for microsoft network"
try changing it to microsoft family logon.
While your there, check that the file and printer sharing is disabled.

edit- I'm talking about the small, one line box, not where all the protocols are listed.

Try moving the NIC to PCI slot 2 or 3.
