Socalgal,
About two weeks ago, I entered the BO
fix in my Auto.exe.bat like you said to, now the windows 98 2nd edition has changed them to : ' C:\>Rem by windows setup' then the delete items. Does this remove them or what?
Why did it do this ? Do I need to delete the
windows setup line in front the deleted lines
Also when I shut down, my Zip tape doesn't get ejected anymore either. Is this my welcome to Win 98 2nd edt. getting aquainted
present. The only reason I got is so that I could network a computer for my daughter,
seems like I may have made a mistake!!!

Yours,
The Pickel

Socalgal,
Win 98 2nd edt. was just too much for me. I had to babysit my grand daughter
and my computer would not 'wake up' from
sleep mode. That was the last straw. Complete
unistall and good ridance. All is back to normal. Even Auto.exe is restored. Thanks
anyway. If it ain't broke don't fix it, I've learned my lesson!!!!!!

Hi pickel, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a good theory, but why is it so hard to follow in reality? /forum/smile.gif

I just reinstalled my win98 and had the same thing happen. Yes, the Windows Setup rems them out. So, I opened autoexec.bat after the installation and deleted the rem lines up to the DEL... for each line, saved, and all is back to normal.

Glad to hear it's "back to normal"! - something I never take for granted. /forum/wink.gif
