Whenever I make a login attempt I get the usual login form, I enter my password and username, and then another form asks for me to login after that before actually logging me into the site. I've tried Google Chrome, Firefox and IE 6 and 7 and got the same result.

I think it's only when I hit "add reply" and I'm not already logged in, though I believe the mini login form on the top right of the forum page doesn't have this issue, but I'd have to try that way again.

It's not like this is a life threatening problem, but I thought I should bring it up.

Click on the SysOpt.com LOGO ( http://www.sysopt.com/ ) and use that login to see if it helps. Might also consider Not logging out/zapping the sysopt cookie.

I verified that the little quick login thing on the forum doesn't make me login twice. I'll keep those suggestions in mind though.

Thanks.

I am experiencing a similar problem. I am recognised when I open the SysOpt forum page. I want to start a new thread in Technical Support. The system does not allow me to do so. Says I do not have permission. Then asks me to Login again. Then I get bounced back and forth between two different login pages. I thought it might be a "cookie" problem. So I have allowed all cookies from this site. Still have a problem.

Anyway, this posting is the farthest I've got, in my quest. I'll try again, after signing off here.

If you can post in this thread you can post anywhere;)

Yes, it does appear that I can post a reply, but I am not allowed to open a new thread.

I am currently using I.E. version 6. Have you made any changes which would require version 7?

IE6 should work fine.
Look on the bottom of the main forum page for the Log Off option and Log Off. That will clear the cookie for this site. Then use the link above to log back on.

It also could be an ad blocker software on your machine..

OK, I followed the procedures you gave, but still could not open a new thread. Then my son suggested using Firefox, which I did, and was then able to open a thread with my problem. So, it would appear that there may be a compatibility problem between IE6, and the current implementation of the forum.

Of course, it could equally be something stupid which I have/haven't done, which caused the problem.

Meanwhile, your very speedy response was most appreciated.

I have similar issues on another webmediabrands owned forum while using ie6. I've narrowed it down to a few choice .js that are in use.

Seems they don't like ie6 or lower..
