--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a ABIT BE6-II motherboard with Pentium III 600. Just brought a new ATA/66 Maxtor 27.2 GB hardrive. When I attach the hardrive to the ATA/66 interface on the motherboard, the bios does not detect it! I get a color screen after the computer boots that list the drive. When I tried to run the Maxtor disk that came with the drive, and it won't detect it to partition it. Can someone help me out!

I have the same setup. I was able to make it work this way...
First when you see the blue screen come up for the ata-66 hit ctrl and the H key at the same time.
Then instead of choosing udma4 select pio3.
restart windows and install the ultra dma drivers off the abit cd. You can make sure these drivers are loaded by looking in device manager. Then restart computer and when the blue highpoint screen comes up hit ctrl and H again. Now choose the udma 4. and restart. Hope this helps.
