I have a pI 166 that was taken out of service at work because the keyboard kept freezing intermitently .
I am only guessing here,but I feel it may be a windows driver conflicting with the bios because:
It never ever freezes in the bios or dos mode , I can work for hours in dos and it will not freeze.However if I boot windows (98)it will freeze: one in three / to one in twenty times or just freeze three times in a row. then it will work for a couple of days .
Any help will be appreciated
