This is a frustrating problem. I recently reloaded my system due to some assorted glitches and all is well now except when I need to reboot my USB 250Mb Zip is not recognized. I must go in to Device Manager and Refresh then it is recognized. The indicator flashes during the boot sequence so I know the system finds it.

It is plugged in through a four port hub and a scanner is plugged in to the same hub. I was just reading about the SR for Win98 and a known issue with the hot plugging of USB devices in Standby but that's not really applicable. But I suppose it could be related. The system is as follows:
AMDK62 - 400
18G WD ATA66
320meg SDRAM
V770 Ultra
Via Apollo MVP3 chipset

Hi GMAGDNA,
You should count yourself lucky!!!
It took me about a week to get my USB Zip drive working. In that time I had to flash my BIOS and re-install windoze!!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

If you've just reloaded your system, my best advice would be to download the latest VIA USB Filter drivers...

Hopefully this should sort out your situation???

P.S. Whats with the 320MB RAM?

The latest USB filter drivers were one of the first things reloaded. No luck there.

The 320MB of RAM eliminates a swap file and leaves room for multiple graphics apps at the same time.
