I can't get my microphone to work on my computer.
I have set up many computers and had no problems with the mic.
when I plug it in, I can hear the microphone, when it is around the speakers it makes the speakers go crazy, so it works.
NOw when I use waver recorder, NOTHING.
is there mayb a configuration for a mic.???
my soundcard is built in my board.

some sound cards actually require that the mute box is checked on the mic before it will work.

There are 2 sets of controls for Windows, playback and recording.

Click on the volume control first, and MUTE the mic. This mutes it for playback, meaning it won't cause interference.

Next click on options -> properties, select Adjust volume for recording, here do NOT mute it, and bring the volume up to wherever you want it.
