I want to hook up my stereo speakers to my computer. Could someone PLEASE tell me EXACTLY how to do this? I need to know what to buy, where to plug what in, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Could you clarify whether you want to hook-up the speakers directly to the sound card or your entire Home Audio system?

Just to the sound card. Do I plug something in where the speakers are pluged in now? I'm sorry if I sound stupid but I really don't know how to do this. /forum/smile.gif

You need
1: 1/8 male to RCA adapter.
2: Stereo RCA cable long enough to go from the back of the comp. to the back of the stereo.
you plug the 1/8 stereo adapter into the sound card into the line out (or head phones jack if line out not avail.)
the RCA cable into the adapter, the other end into an open input on the stereo (ex. tape or aux.)
all this from experience. I have my stereo running my computer sound...

Radio shack has an adapter. It goes from a stereo mini-pin to 2 RCA type plugs that you can plug into your stereo. I made something much like it to hook up my computer for a lot less, but it was a pain in the ***.
