promise ultra66 help

I am trying to install a wd 18g hd to a promise ultra66 card I already have an old 2g installed on the ide1. when you boot the computer it says "bios not installed" referring to the bios for the promise card.I loaded the drivers and everything and in system devices under scisi it showed the promise card like it should, and it sees the drive in "my computer" and system devices, but won't let me access it,"because it is not formatted yet". when I go to dos and try to detect the drive it won't see it. I have win95a. help please

I've been looking at other messages here and have noticed that it says to boot to scsi first. I will try this "computer isn't here i'm doing this for a friend" I will try doing this but if that doesn't work i would still like suggestions to the problems in my previous post.

Try the Promise site at www.promise.com (http://www.promise.com) for faq's. You may need to use Win98 or at least Win95b or c.

I had a few problems with the Promise card myself...I looked at the faq and there is a known problem with WD Hard Drives, forgot what it actually was (I had an IBM drive and it worked fine). Also, I don't think Win95a will work...you might have to install WIn95b or higher.
