I regularly upgrade 486s but as an "sx" with an imbedded cpu and no overdrive socket there`s not much you can do. If you like a challenge you can find a dx mobo and do some self education on how things go together and play with them. That`s how I got started. Have fun, Gary d25woods 02-06-2000, 07:31 PM it has a upgrade socket next to the cpu Richard_Cranium72 02-06-2000, 07:54 PM I got(somewhere)a 25mhz and a 50mhz processor for one of those.. DrVette Butchk 02-07-2000, 07:08 AM Intel use to make overdrive chips for those 486/25s I don't know if you can still find them anymore. But they came in 486 dx2/50, 66 DX4/100, small pentium about a 60 I think. I seam to remember Kingston and Evergreen made up grade chips also. I don't know for sure but don't IBM computers need a disk to access the Bios? I also would suggest for the price to performans gained not trying to upgrade. I hope this helps Butchk SysOpt.com
