Ok This is my first time installing a scsi device. I am going to have to install the host adapter too. That isn't the problem. The problem I think I am going to have is putting the cd changer (A Nakamichi MJ-5.16) on to the adapter. It is a SCSI-2. I am not sure what I should plug in here. I didn't get any documentation with it. I know what to put in the I/O bus and I know what goes in the line out. And where the power goes. What do I do with the SCSI ID? It has a 1,2,&a4. As well as some other 6 other pins the first one says reserved-1 the last one says termination. Now I know that in a SCSI environment that you have to terminate the last device. Which this cd will be the 1st and last. Are these jumpers? If so which jumpers do I turn on?
TIA,

BC. I'm sorry you have waited this long for a response....But I can only give you some insite as I dont know that brand of changer and havent had time to look for it on the net...But here goes what I can tell ya.
1. You will want to use the 50 pin cable connector (scsi2)
2. With this being the ONLY scsi device other than the adapter card you will need to enable the termination on BOTH the card and the CD.
3. as for which Id # to use go ahead and use ID#1 as your card by default is setup as ID#7.
4. I can tell ya the other jumper positions are for things like Device lock (so you can lock a CD in the drive so someone else doesnt remove it), Set the Parity of the buss, and the reserved one (usually used for when flashing the firmware of the drive)
Sorry thats all I can safely tell ya without having spec's of the drive to look at

Thanks for your help I have contacted the distributer of the drive. Not the anufacturer. They had a PDF of it. Nakamichi didn't scumbags. But it has what I need As well as your post did.
Thanks again,
BC
