I have read about three old posting on how to fix modem sound and other stuff.
like
AT=0 to get rid of sound.
but my modem doesn't seem to take the string commands, the only one that has worked so far is s11=40 speeds up!
how do I get rid of the sound. I don't want to hear it dial anymore and the other modem answering. I might b kicked out of my house if I don't fix this!
The support of the company is beyond ****!
Newcome modem 56ifxvc
I don't have the actual drivers as well, can't get them on the webpage of the company!
Thanks

If you go to Control Panel and then into Modem, highlight the device then choose properties you should have a slider there to adjust the volume. All the way left is off.

If that's not working for ya, then the usual command in the init string to disable the speaker is "M0". Just add M0 to the extra settings field in the advanced properties dialog box.

(BTW, the "0" in MO is a zero as in 0123 and not the letter O as in LMNOP.)
