I'm interested in a ATI 4850 vid card. What's the advantage of 1gb over 512 mb memory?

Shoreguy 03-17-2009, 07:49 PM depends on the specs of the rest of your system. Unless you're doing some hard core rendering or gaming (that requests a higher amount of video memory), the 512 should suite you fine. Midknyte 03-17-2009, 08:41 PM There's more memory for textures, etc. but the core engine will still be the same. Unless you crank up all the settings and run at super high res, the difference will be minimal. dawgtuff 03-19-2009, 06:47 PM Thanks, I'm upgrading my vid card from a 7600GT. My system has a Opty144@2.5 A 4850/70 will work fine until I build a new system, then I'll just put it in the new one. SysOpt.com
