I had to reformat my HD recently, and noticed under the device mgr that I have a yellow "?" by "other device". Clicking on the "plus" shows PCI Bridge with a yellow "?" and PCI USB with a yellow ?. My OS is Win95.
I can't figure how to install drivers for these from the Win95 CD. I don't have a Floppy that appears to have the drivers. Just modem, sound, video, mouse instalion disk. How can I get these drivers installed?

I plan to add a USB Port and this version of Windows supports it, I think.

Thanks for your in advance.

You should be able to go to device manager and "click"on selected device and then"click" on properties, then Win should tell you if you need to update driver or if you have "conflicing device"(will show "config manually" tab)so click on update driver or conflicting device , follow on screen directions
hope this helps gene

You MUST have win95 B or C versions or win98 to use USB and support USB hardware. There is also several updates/patches for Win95B/C to get usb working properly. I will suggest that IF you plan on using USB EXTENSIVELY to upgrade to Win98 as it's support of usb is MUCH more stable.
To get rid of the problems in the device manager (as long as you have the correct OS versions) is to install the drivers for those devices (Usually if you are using a FULLY compliant OS the drivers will be built in) they might be on the Motherboard's driver CD as well.

In the DMgr, the item with Question Mark is PCI USB and it says drivers are installed properly and device is working properly.

The device PCI Bridge, under general says "the drivers are NOT installed properly. To install drivers go to driver tab and click update drivers". You can do that and nothing happens with the CD in the drive.

Mntsnow,
The CD has "with USB support" and before I reformated they were on there. It also seems that ran a test from the internet several months ago.

mntsnow,
I went to the FIC web site and downloaded usb support and usb drivers. I installed them and it cleared out the "PCI USB" with "?" and setup a device in the divice mgr called usb controller. In there you find the pci Bridge with a yellow circle and a "!" mark. It's said under properties that the drivers are not installed. I had someone to tell me today that the PCI bridge didn't have drivers. I no longer have the yellow "?"
in my device mgr. I know you are right about upgrading to 98, but hate to spend that $98.00 for that. Would rather buy Ram.

If you are using a VIA chipset MB from FIC, you need to install the chipset drivers for the MB. Look for the drivers at FIC's website for your particular MB, which are called either 'Patch for Chipset' or 'IRQ Routing'.

Astro, There must be a Updated driver avaliable for your PCI bridge. You might check with the Motherboard manufactures website for updated drivers.
