Finally got WIN98SE installed via "clean boot" per teh instructions in the install.txt file on the CD. On the final reboot I got a message saying one of my files was bad & Windows would restore it. It rebooted fine, but I cannot find Internet Connection Sharing via Control Panel/Add Remove/Windows Setup/Internet Tools - it just ain't there! I tried Add/Remove from the CD with the same results. I look in Control Panel/System & it says my version is SE 4.10.2222. I checked SiSoft Sandra and it says Win98 version 4.10.1998. I looked at another computer I upgraded and it says it's 4.10.2222a.
Am I right in surmising the install still did not complete properly and my only real option is to backup all my data, format, and rebuild from scratch? I've been fighting problems installing SE on theis machine for a month and see this as the only way out unless someone can tell me how to rectify teh version number & find ICS.
Thanks
