The mobo manual said to short jumpers 13 & 14. The system wouldn't boot until we shorted jp13 and opened jp14 which is for a pent133. The system boots and recognizes the chip as a 133. How can we get to 166? Will I have to buy a new mobo? Mobo is a Amptron pm-7600 with 32mgs72pin ram. Purchased in '96. 56k modem, 1.08gig hd.PCI Diamond Stealth 3d2000. This is my old system that I am handing down to my son. Most things nowadays require a min of 166..... Any suggestion on getting the cpu up to 166 or new mobo would be most appreciated! thanks laurie laurie 02-06-2000, 09:25 AM Thanks Smunzli, I found that page too and we checked all the jumpers. But still won't boot with jumpers set for a 166. Something else that's strange. The mobo manual that came with the machine states it supports up to 200cpu The invoice says it supports up to 166 Yesterday I downloaded the online manual and it states it supports up to 133!!!! Geesh, I thought this would be so simple. just pop in the 166 and reset the jumpers But nooooooo! I don't want to spend much on this oldie, but perhaps a new/used mobo is in order? If so...what will fit in this old case and use the same components? thanks laurie ram 02-06-2000, 01:39 PM Hi have you checked Amptrons site to see if there is a Bios update for your board?
