spinner plus (screwed my machine up)

i tried the spinner plus thing to keep ie5 from loggin off. didnt like that so i uninstalled spinner plus. now my sound is all jacked up. no sound works at all. real juke box wont work and if i play a game no sould will work. i can get a cd to play if i put one in but nothing else works!


this has me real pi$$ed off that this has happened cause i got 4 hours of mp3's i cant listen too. so i am smerfing in silence.

Hey Hoppy: I had a similar experience with spinner a while back. Although it didn't mess up my sound ,alot of other functions were really compromized. I unistalled as you did but none of the other stuff went back to working either. And with all the other problems that I was having at the time, Ihad to format,didn't have a way to backup then, and reistalled Win 98 and all my software. Then ,after being hassled by my wife, reluctantly, tried it again and now it works fine. I believe there are some nasties in their software. She has tried to download it on her computer at her office and has had no luck whatsoever. Did you check everywhere for pieces of the program, maybe left over somewhere else, registry, download files, program files,etc. I had trouble with the upgrades to Zone Alarm, til I went thru my computer and deleted all references to it , then re-downloaded and re-installed. well i still aint got my stuff workin

deleted all records i could find on the peice of **** spinner prog.

complete re-install of win98.

i think i should be able to file criminal mischeif charges on the sorry programer that wrote spinner.

i sent filled out the plea for help on the spinner site but they havnt gotten back w/ me.

any advice guys ?

Hey man: Did you just re-install or did you format the drive ?? Everytime I tried a re-istall, thigs were worse than before . How long ago did this start? My CD player would even recognise an audio CD this morning??
I did a reg/restore( did you try that before
installing windows?)( is it too late for that option?) back 3 days, at least it plays now, but will not auto start, but data CD's work fine...go figure. Checked Tweak UI and both boxes were checked, man who knows?
