Also, did you get the newest UDMA66 drivers? I recently flashed to the NJ BIOS and couldn't boot to my UDMA66 drive which was operating perfectly before the flash. As it turned out, I also needed the new driver. It worked perfectly after that. [This message has been edited by BillyB (edited 02-05-2000).] bdog 02-05-2000, 05:24 PM It is listed in bios, and windows works works fine on this machine, it is just that linux can't see it. RobRich 02-05-2000, 06:28 PM Try using the DMA-33 controller, since most ATA-66 interfaces are recognized as SCSI type devices, and that Linux has only started to have limited support for ATA-66 controllers. I use Slackware, and it does the same thing with my Promise-based ATA-66 controller. Mntsnow 02-06-2000, 12:54 AM Bdog, NO dist of Linux at this time supports the ATA66 controller thus you cannot access a drive on that controller http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif Hopefully they will have ATA66 support in the next kernel (along with USB support) Mntsnow SysOpt.com
