I don't know what it is but it started making wierd noises and was stuttering a little but I didn't pay it much attention. It finally went kaput though. I asked a friend who works at a computer shop and he says that some CD-ROMS just die after a while. If all else fails, you may need to buy a new one, at least in my experience that is what I had to do. It sucks but be happy CD-ROMS aren't too expensive.
