Hi All!
I would like to know if there is a way I can monitor my home machine (NT4)from work. I have this machine hooked up to a DSL line via a gateway comp. (W98)
I've been having heat issues lately and want to keep an eye on a proggie I have running that monitors the mobo's temp. and core voltages.
I'd like to do a "burn in" with SETI for a few days but still be able to keep an eye on the temp so as not to burn too much...
Is there a program I need to "spy into" my machine?

I know of a way on a LAN not sure if it works on an internet connection I don't see why not all it uses is an IP address. It is called VNC Virtual Network Computing At:
www.orl.co.uk/vnc (http://www.orl.co.uk/vnc) I beleive.
Well they moved here: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/

And the best part about this is the price!
FREE!

Yeah speed is not a problem as I have a T-1 e at work and DSL at home. I'm not concerned with that so much as trying to get in through blackice- to a non gateway machine. Something like

***.***.***.***:192.168.0.1

I'm hoping its that easy
I'll have to read the web site more. I'll let you know. Thanks again! upon inspecting this program It seems a great thing for anyone with a couple (or more) of machines networked and few monitors. VERY COOL. I might have held back for a while before getting my second monitor.

WHOA!
That is exactly what the doctor ordered. Thanks I'll post here to let you know how it worked. I'm a little nervous about sygate not letting me in. And then there is also the Blackice too. I'll let you know!

Glad I could be of some help. It works fine for me here in my LAN but when I go across the network to another branch it is next to impossible. Mainly do to the speed. We have 56k frame relay so it sucks. But over a cable network should work fine and they had a lot of tweaking ability for slow connections. Let me know if you got it to work and what settings you use if you have slow connections. It is pretty simple to set up just put a password in and connect.
