One day i decided to switch my 10 Network card with a new 100 one. This new card also has WOL (wake-up on lan) After setting all jumpers correctly I booted the PC and everything was fine. Win98 recognized card and installed it and it worked. Then later that day I wanted to use the PC again and instead of booting it didn't. The power supply was broken (not the fuse but the power supply itself) so I bought a new and more powerfull one (50W more) and installed it. (supposedly the wol needs a bit more power) Now everytime I turn the computer on the power light blinks on and then immediatly off... It never reaches its full brightness. The lights of the CD also blink on and off just as quickly... The Power supply still is working but i think this problem is the reason the other one quit. I've checked all connections on the board and they are fine. I tried resetting the BIOS, taking out the new network card, inserting the old, switching around RAM (SDRAM) and checking the CPU base. Always the same thing happens... Its kinda getting annoying http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Just an idea,
try just using the essentials, like hd, vid card, floppy, and ram.

Well I had already done that, but I solved the problem. If you connect too many items (CD's Harddisks) to the same power cord my power supply switches itself off... pbly to protect from an overload or something but thx its working now but some software problems are popping up but i think i can handle em http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
