A pal of mine just gave me his "old" GFX card which is a NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 7900 GTX. As seen here: http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_7900.html

I am a bit out of the loop as far as the totem pole of cards go, especially with integrated vs stand alone, etc. My boards have integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 and ATI Radeon HD 3200, respectively, as listed below:

ASUS M2A-VM HDMI AM2 AMD 690G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Is the Geforce card better than either or both of these chipsets as I am deciding on which board to keep as my main PC and which to make into a Media Center, thanks.

The 7900GTX is definitely better. Better than both cards combined, and then some.

If you don't want it, sell it on eBay. So many gamers tried OCing this card for an extra ounce of performance they bricked their cards. The GTX commands quite a premium if I remember right.

Great to know, thanks! I do pretty well with determining both families of cards seprately, but I never know the side by side comparison... I had a Tom's Hardware link once before to a side by side chart of comparison, though it is way out of date.

Is there a newer up to date one?

The THG charts are a bit old in computer years. Last update was for Q3 2008. I doubt that the 1250 or 3250 are even on the chart to begin with.

3200 is as close as I can find.

Benchmarks are at the bottom for each.
